We are a volunteer run library filled with tools, kitchen gadgets, board games, camping accessories and more! All of our items have been donated and are available for you to borrow for free when you sign up for a membership.
How to use the Library
All members have an account online that is activated after showing a piece of photo ID to one of our volunteers any Saturday from 1-4pm. With an active membership you can check items out when you visit the library as well as reserve items online.

As our library is quite small we may not be able to accept all donations. Please refer to our donation guidelines below and send us an email with a photo of your donation for approval.
Guidelines for donations
Items must be clean
Items must be in good working order
For fire safety, items must not be gas powered.
Items must be small and light enough to transport down stairs.
We may refuse items at our discretion.
You may leave your contact details to take the item back at any time. In the case that we re-donate unpopular items we will contact the original donor if they request it.
Please provide the manual if possible.

Library of Things FAQ
Q: Does it cost anything to borrow the items?
A: No! We are proud to be able to offer all of these items to the community free of charge. There are no membership or borrowing fees. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers working behind the scenes, and the wonderful owners of The Better Good for donating space for our library, we are able to keep our costs down! Thank you!
Q: Can I only borrow the items for one week?
A: Nope! Let us know how long you need the item for, and we can set the due date for then. Traveling to South America for a month and need a mosquito net? No problem. Need a few weeks with the caulking gun to finish that bathroom reno? We've got you covered. The only exception to this is if somebody else has already reserved the item in the near future - in that case, we'll figure something out with you.
Q: Can I reserve items so that when I show up at the Library, I know they'll be there?
A: Absolutely! If you are new to the Library simply contact us and we can set the item aside for you. If you have already activated your membership by creating an account as well as showing a piece of photo ID to one of our volunteers, you can browse our online inventory and reserve an item.

Q: When can I pick up items I've reserved?
A: Currently, the library is staffed on Saturdays from 1-4pm.
If these hours don't work for you, send us an email and we can see if one of our volunteers can meet you outside of those hours.
Q: I'm ready to return my item. Do I need to wait until the Library opens on Saturday?
A: Nope! Please feel free to stop by The Better Good during their regular hours ( thebettergood.com ), and feel free to drop off your item with any one of the staff members. It will be checked in by a volunteer during the next shift.
Q: Can I donate items to the Library?
A: Yes, please! We are a volunteer-run project, and all of our items have been graciously donated by members of the community. Donating to the Library is a great way to let go of those items cluttering your house that you don't use very often - and the best part is, if you do want to use them in the future, you can come borrow them! We do have somewhat limited space, so we can't accept some larger items. Please look above to read more about donation guidelines.
Q: How can I tell my friends about the Library?
A: Please feel free to share links to our Facebook page ( facebook.com/libraryofthingsyxe) and to our inventory ( libraryofthingsyxe.myturn.com/library/inventory/browse)! And of course, bring them by on a Saturday afternoon to meet one of our volunteers and browse through the collection.
Q: This seems like a really great project. How can I get more involved?
A: Volunteers are what continue to make this project successful. Please consider donating your time to help us with things like web design, creating signs, repairing and maintaining library items, and staffing the library on Saturdays to lend out items.
